Reaumur to celsius conversion The Reaumur scale was a temperature scale invented in 1730 by the French physicist Réné Réaumur. By definition the freezing point of water is at 0 °Ré and the boiling point is at 80 °Ré. The Réaumur scale was used in France until the 19th century. There is also a "double Reaumur" scale, which is equivalent to the centigrade scale. The Réaumur scale is not used today.
Example.1:-Reaumur = 100°Ré, celsius = ?
solve:- ºC = °Ré x 5 / 4
ºC = 100 x 5 / 4
ºC = 125
∴ 100 Reaumur (°Ré) = 125 Celsius (ºC)
