The diagonal of a rectangle
A rectangle with sides of length a and b has a diagonal that is the longest distance from a corner to a non-corner point on a plane. The same is true for a parallelogram with the only difference being that this diagonal is not necessarily a line. A diagonal is a measure from a vertex to the opposite side, passing through the opposite corner. The diagonal of a rectangle is twice its width, and the diagonal of a parallelogram is the same as the height. The diagonal of a square is a maximum of one-half of its side length.

Diagonal of Rectangle formula:-
- Diagonal of a rectangle = √(a²+b²)
- a → Length of rectangle
- b → Breadth of a rectangle
How to solve the diagonal of a rectangle problem.
Example.1:-Length of the rectangle is 30 metres and the breadth is 40 metres then find the diagonal of the rectangle.
Diagonal of a rectangle = √(length² + breadth²) = √(40² + 30²) = 50 metres
Example.2:-Length of the rectangle is 20 metres and the breadth is 70 metres then find the diagonal of the rectangle.
Diagonal of a rectangle = √(length² + breadth²) = √(20² + 70²) = 72.801 metres
